Education Counts @ Vocation Matters

Learner Fund Application guidance

The Education Counts Learner Fund exists to assist individuals who are receiving care and treatment from SLaM services in Lambeth in meeting the cost of education and training courses.

The maximum award is £500 per applicant per annum towards the cost of courses.

Individuals can apply for an additional £250 to meet the cost of essential items required for the successful completion of the course (books or clothing, for example). In exceptional circumstances the fund will pay for transport costs (e.g. if the course is outside London).

Individuals can apply at any time. The decision making panel meets to assess applications on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Applicants will hear the result of their application within 7 days of this meeting. The decision-making panel is made up of vocational professionals and service users.

Payments should be made within 6 weeks after an award is made, and will be made directly to the college / training provider.

(Applications should be made by application form, and returned either by post or email.)
